Norg Gas Storage is one of NAM’s underground gas storage facilities. It has been in existence since 1997, using a former gas field.
In summer, NAM injects natural gas into the empty gas field, supplying this natural gas whenever necessary in winter. Construction teams built a new measuring line on the underground gas storage facility, enabling even more accurate measurements of incoming and outgoing gas. Drilling was prepared and took place in 2012. Drilling had to be continuous day and night, seven days a week, for three months. For this purpose, a quieter special drilling tower was used, which produced less light than its predecessors. Adjustments were also made to the installation at this underground gas storage facility, with a new compressor being installed in 2014 alongside the two existing compressors.
